Apologise

Published by Sanket Rathod under , , , , on Saturday, May 11, 2013

I never came up and said hi,
Never did you too smile back.
And that was that to our story,
It never began never did it end.

For this today I truly apologise
To you and to you and to all of you,
For having once dreamt a life
And now living an entirely another.

I fall in love quite easily
And just as easily move on too,
With a name, a face and a few wishes
Bundled up as memories cherished.

For this today I truly apologise
To you and just to you alone,
Not for living the best dream with me
But for being the one yet the last.

Open Heart

Published by Sanket Rathod under , , , , on Friday, June 17, 2011

I closed my eyes and opened up my heart
Threw my hands up in the air and said I love you
You chuckled out aloud and shook your head
Threw your arms around me and hugged real tight
You stepped back a bit and I held your hands
You looked into my eyes and I stared back
You shook your head again and turned around
I stood there and watched you walk away
I stood still for a while and then laughed out loud
And that's when I saw YOU just passing by
I called out aloud and asked your name
You stopped surprised and asked who was I
I closed my eyes and opened up my heart

Eyes Only

Published by Sanket Rathod under , , , on Friday, February 13, 2009

As many spare afternoons as they always had
He spent following his most favourite fad.
Talking, sitting closer than fair and necessary,
Seeking an already long acquired treasury
In her eyes.

As she talked and expressively waved,
Each little or loud clink her bangles made
Matching now and then with the ring of her laughter,
He knew he madly tried to keep up and chase after
Her rolling eyes.

He saw her pluck one bye one the rose petals
That he took great care to bring her as he pedalled.
Soon he saw something and smiled an 'It's OK' smile,
The regret of what she'd been doing all the while
In her eyes.

But one afternoon he didn't sit at all any close,
Nor did he let her pluck petals of a daisy or a rose
For he whelmed her with not one but blossoms eleven.
And with just one gesture she answered his question,
Her affirming eyes.

The River and The Boat

Published by Sanket Rathod under , , on Sunday, November 02, 2008

My love is that of the blatant boat
Seeking pleasure in making the water quiver
Your love is that of the silent river
Embracing the boat, just letting it float

Stray Leaf in Love

Published by Sanket Rathod under , , on Saturday, July 05, 2008

I am a stray leaf in love
In love
With the wind that carries me
With the dust that accompanies me
With the sun that ages me
With the rain that decays me
With the road that ignores me
With the green grass that mocks me
With the seasons that lived and died with me
With the whirlwind that took pride in me
With the artist that immortalised me
With the rake that disposed me
With the fire that burnt me
